According to the report from the World Health Organization in 2005, children worldwide under 5 years of age are more than twice as likely to die of malaria than measles (853 deaths/1000 from malaria - 8% with 395 deaths/1000 from measles - 4%). Yet we don't vaccinate against malaria.

Hello...my name is Kate and I am good friends with Lynn (the one who's child got the measles!) I just wanted you to know that Oprah had a GREAT show yesterday with 2 mothers with children who developed autism....one who thinks it was immediately after the MMR....I thought you might want to watch it online! We, as parents, also need to remember and educate ourselves on the real threat of these "vaccine preventable diseases". With modern day medicine (i.e. antibiotics) most, if not all, of these diseases are treatable with no lasting side effects and the child is left with full-immunity to that disease.
We need to research vaccines before giving any to our children just like we would research what car we wanted to buy before buying it. We don't just take the salesman's word for it...we want to be knowledgeable so that we make the best decision. Why do we hand over complete control to doctors and let them make these decisions for us?

Did you know that in the US we don't NEED to vaccinate against malaria??? How about a little perspective. My oldest is on the spectrum and I DO vaccinate my children. Just wait until your child comes down with the measles, infects everyone else and it mutates to then infect the rest of us!!!!!!!!
